Solidarity!’ is a year-ish long project based at the Working Class Movement Library and is part of Bea’s PhD research in sociology and heritage at Manchester Metropolitan University. Bea is working with the WCML to find out how young people might engage with political working-class history through the materials in the WCML collection. But we’re not the experts on young people, young people are! So, we’re looking to get together a group of 6 – 10 people aged 15-to-19 to be involved!

Throughout the project, we hope to work with the WCML’s collection of archival materials, printed matter, books, banners, posters, photographs and anything else we can find, to think about working-class activism and movements of the past. We’ll be thinking about how past movements might relate to issues, struggles and conditions working-class people face today, and what we might want future action and movements to look like.
